Community service is a graduation requirement with credit given on the transcript, but only at the end of a student's senior year. Students are now able to check their hours on Aeries. Your Community Service is listed as a 9th period class - check how many "points" you currently have to see the number of hours we have on file for you. All volunteer activities must have a completed Community Service Log Sheet completed. https://docs.google.com/document/d/14tulAnx7JsLMfCWbiTTtWQ5mdOPGRp464QqZd_qQp38/edit?usp=sharing Once the community service log sheet is complete, students will submit their form in person. You can find the community service coordinator ( Ms. Taylor) in the counseling office. In the event that she is not available, please ensure that you drop off your completed form inside the designated mail drop box. Hours will be updated by the end of each week. We also encourage you to use the required hours as a reference to make sure your retaining the correct amount of hours needed to graduate. At anytime, you can complete more then the required hours presented above. If you are unsure if your activity would count, please do not hesitate to ask ahead of time. Accepted community service activities must be completed through a non profit organization NOT a for profit business of any type. Some good examples of local non profit organizations are: The Boys and Girls Club, Astoria Gardens, Tracy Interfaith Ministries, McHenry House, Animal rescues and adoption agencies. Any other opportunities that come up throughout the year will be announced in the school wide google classroom, in Unity, and also our Charter Chatter newsletter. Please click on the link below for approved Non Profit organizations within our community. Note: This is not a complete list of all local non profits in the Tracy and surrounding areas. Contact information may change and/or be different depending on the organization. We encourage students and parents to research other non profit organizations and volunteer activities as needed. If you have any questions, feel free to contact your coordinator at: [email protected]
